Burwell Art Show 2025
April 14, 2025
Burwell Public Schools hosted a 7-12th art show on Wednesday, April 9th. Four schools, other than Burwell, attended the art show including: Fullerton, Palmer, Sandhills, and West Holt. Junior high and high school artwork was hung up and displayed before 10 a.m. in fourteen separate categories organized by mediums. Burwell elementary artwork and clay projects were displayed and judged, as well. At least one piece of artwork was displayed for each art student that they have created this past year. Judging took place in the morning, while students attending the show from Burwell and other schools did paper quilling as an art activity. Their works created that day were judged by 3 p.m.
Students, parents, and community members were welcome to view K-12 artwork from 1-4 p.m. that day. Burwell displayed over 200 elementary pieces of artwork and 90 pieces of 7-12th projects. For junior high and high school artwork, fifteen - 3rd place ribbons were received overall, thirteen - 2nd place ribbons, and seven - 1st place ribbons. Special recognition went to Violet Meckel and Calah Archibeque for being awarded Judge’s Merits, which was the highest honor at the show. Thank you to the school staff, administration, students, and art club for helping with the set up and making the Burwell art show possible!
