On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, the Burwell FCCLA chapter sent eleven students to District STAR in Ord. Through the school year, the members complete service projects and/or speeches to spread information throughout the school and community. The members then have a chance to present their projects to judges at District STAR. All of the eleven students medaled and will be going to State FCCLA STAR in April. At State FCCLA, some of the students will have the chance to compete for nationals. Some events are Nebraska only qualifying events while some are national qualifying events.
Medalists and their events are as follows below:
- Jaycie Stout: Professional Presentation Senior - District Champion, Gold
- Haylee Gideon and Regan Smith: Focus on Children - District Champion, Gold
- Triston Moses: Nebraska Family Challenges and Issues - District Champion, Gold
- Aleksus Wegener: Nebraska Health and Wellness - District Champion, Silver
- Kelli Brownell: Nebraska Consumer Issues - District Champion, Silver
- Jayna Moses, Ella Vore, and Sydney Skalsky: Interpersonal Communications Level 3 - District Champion, Gold
- Shealynn Rasmussen: Job Interview Level 3 - Runner-up, Gold
- Mikayla William: Interpersonal Communications Level 1 - District Champion, Silver
